Hello! My name is Henry and I’m doing my last year of study at Swinburne in Prahran, Melbourne doing the course formally called Graphic Design, but in 2008 very much Communication Design. I spose we’ve set up these blogs because ‘knowledge is power’ and the more of it we have, the more comfortable we might feel about opperating in a community…. well maybe less comfortable, depending on what we find. The last year has been really cool for me, I’ve been living in London, Fulham to be more precise and working at a multi-diciplinary design studio in Chelsea (a 10 minute stroll down Kings Rd). The work was great, and being such a small place allowed me to learn heaps over the 12 months. I’ve only been back a week now, after being in Thailand for the last month, so the realization of uni life is really setting back in. Although Swinburne seems to be such a different place than when I left it in 2006. The course structure has a huge lean towards sustainable design, a far cry from the stuff we were doing over years 1 and 2, but no less interesting. Even more so maybe, once I can get my head around some of it!
